SUPREME COURT JUDGMENT: A MOMENT FOR RESPONSIBILITY, UNITY, AND REBUILDING
Abuja, Nigeria — May 1, 2026
As someone deeply committed to the growth, unity, and stability of our great party, I receive this decision with a sense of responsibility and calm reflection. The ruling once again reinforces a long-standing legal principle—that the courts are cautious about intervening in the internal affairs of political parties unless there is a clear breach of the law or constitution.
While the judgment may raise difficult questions, particularly regarding actions taken during the period when some of our colleagues—Samuel Anyanwu, Kamaldeen Ajibade, Umaru Bature, and Okechukwu Osuoha—were under suspension, it also provides us with much-needed clarity. The position of the appellate court, now upheld, suggests that certain decisions taken during that period may not carry the legal weight previously assumed.
This is not a moment for division or blame. Rather, it is a moment for maturity, leadership, and a recommitment to the values that bind us together as a political family.
I urge all stakeholders, including INEC and all relevant institutions, to carefully study and respect the implications of this judgment in line with the law and our party’s constitution.
Most importantly, I appeal to our members across the country to remain calm, united, and focused. Our strength has always come from our ability to overcome internal challenges and emerge stronger.
As the Board of Trustees steps in to guide the process of stabilisation and reconciliation, we must all support efforts aimed at restoring order, rebuilding trust, and moving our party forward.
The future of our party is bigger than any individual interest. It is a shared responsibility—and together, we will protect it.
I encourage everyone to await the full text of the judgment for a more comprehensive understanding of its scope.
Signed,
Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN

In the last plenary session, I had the honour of seconding a motion ably moved by a senior parliamentarian, a legislator that I deeply respect for his bravery, courage and honesty, Hon. Abdulsamad Dasuki. The motion was on the need to operationalise and complete National Automatic Development projects in Sokoto State. The motion resonated with me because the I believe the importance of a manufacturing base cannot be overstated. I genuinely believe a lot of our societal problems stems from a very high unemployment rate. I commend Hon. Dasuki on this passages of the motion and hope the Federal Government completes the project swiftly.

My Leader, HE @atiku Abubakar and I, after the Supreme Court victory and a strategic meeting yesterday.
We Stand Together With The People Of Nigeria in the ADC platform.
ADC is the party which follows the rule of law and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
One fight at a time. We will win ALL because we play by the rules.
Do not listen to those employed to tell you that Nigeria did not win at the Supreme Court yesterday. We did. Hands down.
Anything they throw at us, we are ready because we follow due process.
No Retreat, No Surrender.
#EyesOnTheBall
God bless Nigeria,
Lauretta Onochie.

It is deeply unfortunate and uncalled for that the Zazzau Emirate have taken this decision against Sheikh Khamis Almisry. Anyone who knows the immense struggles and sacrifices he endured to found and build the Abu-Ubaidah Jumu’ah Mosque understands that he is far too significant to be casually dismissed for mere political or whatsoever reasons. But Allah does not sleep, He does not even slumber. ALLAH YA ISA!

Only Governor @Kyusufabba is getting an automatic ticket. The other elective positions will be contested either through consensus or direct primary. Too many issues in Kano APC.. 😅
