On Thursday, April 2, 2026, CDD-Ghana, with support from Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, will convene a national stakeholder workshop to present findings from a nationwide study across 24 MMDAs and facilitate dialogue on resetting Ghana’s local governance system. The session will examine challenges around decentralisation, public trust, and the financial viability of MMDAs, while building consensus on practical reform pathways. What will it take to make local governance work in Ghana? Share your views in the comments section. #localgovernance

Happy Independence Day, Ghana! Today we celebrate the courage, vision, and sacrifice that led to our nation’s freedom. Independence was not only about breaking from colonial rule, it was about building a nation where citizens have a voice, rights are protected, and governance reflects the will of the people. As Ghana continues to grow, conversations about our Constitution and the future of our democracy remain just as important. At CPCR, we believe that informed citizens strengthen democracy. Explore the Constitution, track reforms, and stay informed about the future of our nation. 📷 citizensforreform.org #IndependenceDayGH #CPCR #KnowYourRights #GhanaAt68

What does constitutional reform mean in practice? And what choices lie ahead for Ghana’s democracy? Next week, Prof. H. Kwasi Prempeh, Chairperson of the 2025 Constitution Review Committee, will deliver a public lecture at Wisconsin International University College on the findings of the 2025 Review of Ghana’s Constitution and the road ahead. The lecture is an opportunity to interact with the Chair of the Committee and deepen your understanding of the implementation phase following the submission of the Committee’s report, particularly the institutional and policy choices that now confront the country. 🗓 Thursday, 5th March 2026 | 6:00 PM 📍 Wisconsin International University College, Post Graduate Block

Yesterday, the CPCR team met with the Ghana Registered Nurses & Midwives Association (GRNMA), GAR to introduce the Citizens Platform for Constitutional Reforms. We discussed how health professionals can track and contribute to constitutional reforms that impact healthcare delivery and working conditions. We look forward to having GRNMA onboard. 🔗 citizensforreform.org #CPCR #ConstitutionalReform
