I remain steadfast in my support of Ben Roberts-Smith despite news of his arrest today.
Ben, his immediate and broader defence family need the Australian people’s support right now and I will not abandon him like so many other politicians.
Ben was disgracefully arrested in front of his twin 15 year old girls.
He will be held in jail for 7 days. He gets just one bail application. If that application fails, they can hold him for 2 years.
AFP and OSI have spent $300 million dollars over 10 years to get to this point.

@TeresaOLea95580 @MikeCarlton01 Australia is a secular nation, you might be surprised to learn.
English

@MikeCarlton01 Yes, cause we are a Christian country. Get a life! When everything comes out in the wash, you are definitely landing on the wrong side! You are a has been, trying to stay relevant, or you could have just sold out. Your behaviour towards our country and citizens is despicable!

I’m sorry, I used to think the “conspiracy theorists” were just nutters. This week I’ve decided we were conned. Hear me out. That 1969 spacecraft I watched on my black and white TV had less computing power than your wristwatch, less than some thermostatic controllers I have on my walls. This week NASA sent a $93billion spacecraft to *orbit* the moon, just orbit, in preparation for an actual moon landing in a few years time.
Why on earth would it take us 57 years, and a $93b test flight, with the compute power and comms facilities we have today, if we’d already done it successfully, once before, with so little, 57 years ago.
Nah, I’m now with the conspiracy theorists.

Who among us watched man’s first walk on the moon? Sunday, July 20, 1969.

Every time someone criticises the quality of our politicians, conservatives fire back with ‘but the country’s still a mess.’
What mess exactly?
Australia has universal healthcare. Free public education. A minimum wage. Compulsory superannuation. One of the highest standards of living on earth. We are not at war. We are not in famine. We are not living under authoritarian rule.
By virtually every global measure, Australia is one of the best countries on earth to be born into. That didn’t happen by accident.
Are there real challenges? Yes. Housing affordability is a genuine crisis. Cost of living is hurting people. Those are legitimate issues that deserve real policy responses.
What they don’t deserve is being weaponised by people who have no intention of solving them.
Because ask yourself — when did you last hear Hanson or One Nation offer an actual successful, budgeted policy solution to housing? To cost of living? Not a grievance. Not a target. An actual successful policy.
Their entire business model is convincing you the country is a disaster so you stay angry enough to vote for them. Scared people don’t ask hard questions. Trump still has “concepts of a health plan” -while the entire country can’t afford healthcare.
Every foundation that makes Australia great was built by progressive governments, opposed at every turn by conservatives.
Medicare. Superannuation. The NDIS. The minimum wage. The National Apology. The two biggest back-to-back budget surpluses in history after inheriting a trillion dollars of Liberal debt.
A decade of Coalition government gave us Robodebt. Sports rorts. A delayed national integrity commission. And a senator found guilty of racially vilifying a PhD engineer.
The country isn’t a mess. But we will be when the people running it have no idea what they were doing

Wow! I forgot how many trolls there are on X. After tweeting about how many current politicians have qualifications relevant to their portfolios (in response to Pauline Hansons appalling political record)-what followed was a barrage of arguments that relevant expertise is somehow bad for the country —classic Trumpism and Hansonism.
Revealing. And terrifying.
Trump literally said he loves the uneducated — at a rally — and got cheered for it. That’s the playbook: manufacture resentment toward expertise so that incompetence becomes a virtue and accountability becomes elitism.
The really dangerous part isn’t Hanson or Trump themselves — it’s that their supporters have been successfully convinced that being against knowledge and evidence is somehow authentic and brave. That questioning a politician’s relevant expertise is snobbery rather than basic accountability.
You’d never apply the anti-expertise logic anywhere else. Nobody says “I don’t want a qualified surgeon, I want someone who just gets it.” Nobody says “I don’t care if my engineer has credentials, I care about his character.” As if Hanson’s character is to be admired.
But somehow when it comes to the people managing the economy, health policy, and Indigenous affairs — suddenly expertise is suspicious.
It’s not anti-elitism. It’s anti-accountability — and Hanson has made a 30-year career out of it without fixing a single thing she complains about.

@KillAuDeepState PM Albanese is only deceiving himself, when we all know that he's a member of the club of occultic paedophiles, ritualistic child trafficking practitioners and cannibalistic worshippers of Satan.

@BoerInExile @SonofManwithus It occurs to me that you may have learning difficulties, or an intellectual impairment of some kind. Acquired brain injury perhaps. Apologies. It is hardly fair for me to embarrass you any further, given your clear limitations.

@CookerA @SonofManwithus Ironic, give how you followed the crowd to inject snake oil into yourself retard. You don't have a single original thought in your brainwashed brain.
