Here we go with another STEEP March temperature drop. From highs in the upper 70s to near 80 across the D.C. region this afternoon, and temperatures still up near or above 60 when you head to work or school Friday morning, we should fall to the 50s by about 10 a.m., then into the 40s after 2 or 3 p.m. Temperatures continue to fall Friday night, down to lows in the upper 20s to low 30s, completing a roughly 50-degree drop from this afternoon. Plan on occasional showers much of the day Friday, and winds gusting form the north around 20 to 30 mph. Rainfall doesn't look too heavy, but could range anywhere form about 0.1 to 0.5 inches.

Two SF brands. Same pitch: "Luxury basics without the markup." One is fighting for survival. The other just hit a $10B valuation. The tale of Everlane vs. Quince is a masterclass in Brand vs. Machine. Everlane Launched in 2012 with "Radical Transparency." It was a vibe. It worked, until it didn’t. Revenue stalled at ~$170M. Sales have dropped for 24 months. Tried "Clean Luxury" rebrands and celeb campaigns, but the customer moved on. Hunting for a lifeline to keep the lights on. Quince Launched in 2018 with a different engine: Manufacturer-to-Consumer (M2C). They don’t hold inventory. Factories hold it until you click "buy." A massive engineering team in Bangalore uses AI to forecast demand down to the SKU and color. $50 cashmere + zero middleman = $1B+ revenue in 2025. Everlane built a story. Stories are powerful, but they’re fragile. When the mood shifts, the business cracks. Quince built a structural cost advantage. Their edge compounds every year as data improves and risk stays upstream.

🚨 IS UGARTE REALLY THE PROBLEM? Ugarte plays for Uruguay like he owns that midfield… wins everything, keeps it simple, holds the shape for 90 mins straight. Then you watch him at United and he’s in and out of the team like he hasn’t earned it? He’s literally the type of #6 we’ve been missing for years, someone who just sits, reads danger, and cleans everything up. But we still don’t give him a proper run of games. You can’t expect rhythm or consistency when you’re treating him like a rotation option. For Uruguay he always delivers… maybe the problem isn’t him.
