High Point upsets Wisconsin; Flynn Clayman with the WWE interview: “They said we didn’t play nobody … nobody would play us, just like they wouldn’t play Miami Ohio. But they’ve got to play us in this tournament.”

There was a fear that NIL killed the NCAA Tournament upset. Early games suggesting it isn't the case -- everything except Nebraska's victory ranges from competitive to potentially stunning.

TCU execution (offensive and defensive) in final 35 seconds was perfect. Jamie Dixon is such an under-hyped coach. Frogs advance.

@DanWetzel I can’t recall the name; however it was close to the old Chrysler Headquarters…near Oakman Blvd and Woodward Ave area south of 6 Mile Rd (McNichols Rd.). HP and Hamtramck are small cities surrounded by Detroit!

60 years ago today Texas Western won the national title in a groundbreaking game. Don Haskins’ Miners were the first team to start five African American players, busting the color barrier among southern schools.

@DanWetzel Yes, played with and against him on outdoor courts around Detroit, especially in Highland Park. He played on a terrific high school team, same era as Rudy Tomjanovich and the Brisker brothers Hamtramck High team. Lest we forget, the great teams within Detroit city limits!

This is a political trick of identifying a nebulous problem (mid major scheduling) then pushing a solution that doesn’t directly address it while ignoring other, less disruptive, ways that would. If they had a good reason to expand they’d say it.

DAYTON - After barely making the NCAA Tournament field despite a 31-0 start, Miami University delivered a validating performance before thousands of its fans at the First Four. "This wasn't an upset tonight, at all." espn.com/mens-college-b…

@mar5hallhoops It was a joke. Clearly they deserve (and always deserved) to be in the NCAA Tournament.

@KySportsRadio The way they play -- attempted 41 threes but it was somehow organized. The crowd. The swim team. Awesome night for Miami University.

At the time, no African Americans played in the ACC, SEC and SWC. Other schools did have black players, but never started or played five at the same time. The breaking of the color barrier changed college basketball, and America, forever.
