Just when you think Webbon couldn't get more stooopid, then he goes and out stoooopids himself. So, now, were supposed to believe that rap music was created by the Jews to enrage the masses and that this was part of a conspiracy going back to 1939. It IS sinful to be this stoooopid.
Hilaire Nereus@HilaireNereus

Follow the argument 1. In 1939 sinister Jews and unnamed scientists & musicians change the frequency of A 2. With the goal of enraging the masses 3. Through rap music (in 1939?) We aren't sure where the Egyptian planes fit, but it's there. Joel Webbon "Discernment" Ministries

Jesus taught that the Law of Moses is not abolished (Matthew 5:17), that it will remain in force for as long as heaven and earth endure (Matthew 5:18), and that his followers must obey and teach it (Matthew 5:19). Now, in Matthew 5:20, he demands that his followers surpass the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees. But what does that mean? Watch here: davidwilber.com/videos/keep-to…

In His parable of the Lost Sheep, Yeshua expresses the heart of God toward His wayward people with the imagery of a shepherd who intentionally seeks and rescues his sheep that have gone astray (Matthew 18:10-14). We ought to have that same heart for those who have wandered away from the truth into sin. Just as the flock is not whole when one sheep goes missing, our communities are not whole when even one person abandons the ways of Messiah. And just as the shepherd rejoices over finding the lost sheep, we are to have that same sentiment when a brother or sister repents of their sin. Yeshua said, "So it is not the will of my Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish" (Matthew 18:14).

Michael Kelley, a Christian author and teacher, insists that Christians who obey and teach God’s Law “hate Jesus” and are “literally rejecting what Jesus did on the cross for us.” Here is my response: davidwilber.com/videos/do-pron…

I'm very excited that this article is on its way into the world. It represents years of wrestling with the author of Hebrews' relationship to the law. (I'll post again when it's available. Today I'm editing proofs.)

@travismsnow @JoelWebbon Travis, Joel is a propagandist. He doesn't care about the facts. I know you know this. That said, normal people may come across Joel's nonsense and see your reply, so I thank you for interacting anyway. Be encouraged!

Joel, this is not an accurate representation of what the Church fathers believed about Israel. Many of them held supersessionist beliefs, but not to the extremes of later Reformed theologians. This is Augustine in the City of God: "It is a familiar theme in the conversation and heart of the faithful, that in the last days before the judgment, the Jews shall believe in the true Christ [...] by means of this great and admirable prophet Elijah who shall expound the law to them." Many of the Fathers held to some future, distinct blessing for Israel bc of their belief that OT prophecy still has a literal fulfillment and application regarding national Israel. So was Augustine "Team Zionist"?

How do we make sense of God’s goodness in light of suffering? First, we recognize that the trials we endure in this life pale in comparison to the immeasurable worth of knowing God. Despite our suffering, we affirm God’s goodness because we know God, who is himself the source of true fulfillment, surpassing anything this world can offer. Second, the Scriptures teach that God uses our suffering to refine our character and make us more like Yeshua, revealing a redemptive side to suffering. Third, we recognize that this life isn’t all there is. As believers, we hold onto the hope that God will set everything right in the end, abolishing suffering entirely (Revelation 21:4). May God give you strength to endure this “light momentary affliction.”

@PauleyMo67 Coming from the heretic whose view requires God to have lied, I take that as a compliment!

@PauleyMo67 Actually, the view you are promoting—that we are currently living in the New Earth—is considered outside of orthodoxy. And for good reason, as I've explained. It it not a legitimate view according to Christians.

@DavidWilberBlog I am a Christian. And I have read it. There are plenty of legitimate Christian views on these matters. Perhaps you should explore some of the alternatives before you instantly condemn those who don't agree with your view.

You clearly don't. Christians are the ones who see him as keeping his word, which is why we reject the idea that we are currently living in the New Earth. If that indeed were the case, then God did not keep his word in any meaningful sense. All you have to do is read what his word says about what the New Earth would be like.
