I enjoy the Ridge Racer games and prefer them over Gran Turismo but they’re not easy imo. You can tell there’s a bit of that arcade racing style learning curve to get better at it.

This is also only a recent phenomenon with video games. It’s primarily because zoomers, to use their slang, have cooked attention spans. Putting the phone down and actually committing to a video game is too much to ask for with a lot of people. That’s how bad it’s gotten.

Everything since BBS just throws that shit away in favor of X mashing and spamming screen nukes which not only makes the combat mindless but boring as hell, especially since now you can fly around all you want like Peter Pan or some shit. No sense of strategy & tactics anymore.

People who defend the Osaka Team combat baffle me so much. Air combat is supposed to be rewarding, to show how skilled you are in maintaining a combo by juggling the enemy and the first two Tokyo Team KH games were proof that weight is essential to what makes the gameplay fun.

I’m always fond of Zelink (especially for BOTW/SS) but this is the one timeline where Link straight up belongs with someone else. He has no chemistry with Zelda in OOT, they’re more way platonic in there.

But at the same time, who in their right fuckass minds would be playing GBA games on a PS5 on a modern tv when you could be playing literally anything else? I think some older games are just off better being played on original hardware or emulation handhelds.

Retro games being rereleased on modern consoles through legacy collections/HD ports is an interesting dilemma to me because it’s important to support them through official and legal means and it helps send a message on wanting a new installment.
