Vaccines play a vital role in protecting public health—but that responsibility must be matched with accountability. When people are harmed, they cannot be left behind or overlooked. We hope this moment reflects a growing recognition—both within Government and the @covidinquiryuk —that the experiences of vaccine injured & bereaved families must be acknowledged and addressed. The current VDPS is outdated, inadequate, and has failed too many. It is not fit for purpose in its current form. It’s time for meaningful reform. I send my deepest condolences to the family and friends of the two students who tragically died following the outbreak of Meningitis in Kent. This is also a deeply difficult time for the families of others who are seriously ill. We are working closely with health experts to distribute antibiotics and begin a targeted vaccine programme.
