@joliehamer We saw that and kudos to Sleeping Giant Brewing Company for taking that on and being part of the community. Sadly we don't have any photos of the windows in the old days, but we did find this photo of a horse on Court Street in winter.

@Eatons2 Growing up in Thunder Bay, seeing the Eaton's Christmas windows was a wonderful tradition! Those windows have been dark since Eaton's closed in 1997. But this year, for the first time in 23 years, local businesses lit up the windows again! It was heartwarming to see this!

Christmas in Winnipeg always meant taking the kids down to see the store windows on Portage.

My first job was in the crystal dept of Eaton's Queen St. store (aging myself there). Started off treating crystal like, well, crystal, ended by tossing the goblets, etc. around as if they were made of plastic. Never broke anything.

In the 1970s, it would have been completely normal to swing down to your local department store and pick up a can of motor oil. That's kind of weird to think about
