@EffortPR I agree with this and I am a manager of outreach for our hospital. I work tirelessly to advocate for our ATs and what they deserve!

There is absolutely no one more dangerous to the AT profession than the Manager/Outreach Coordinator that's an AT that is out of touch with the profession AND will offer you 45k a year and a medbridge subscription like they are doing you a favor.

@EffortPR A few yrs back I asked my manager for a raise backed with like 7-10 reasons why I deserved it. NATA salary survey came out at the same time. I was right at the avg for my experience, there was no discussion. Didn't want to be the org to advance AT. That started my clock to leave.

Athletic Trainers, a reminder, you are not a cheap alternative to healthcare. You are a value added.

@pamlaalexandra_ Sometimes it's about shifting our focus from the goals we have toward the impact they have on us mentally, emotionally, physically, and financially. Then we can self-examine why we are climbing them in the first place.

Getting athletes back from an injury faster is NOT the flex you think it is. It's a short-term victory that only serves to feed your ego. Your well fed ego starves your patients of their long-term potential.

Sports related trauma isn't as overt as "the coach raised his or her voice one time." Or "my parents were mad i didn't play well that game." It's the insidious nature of youth sports systematically denying children the opportunity to develop like a normal person.

Can anyone provide me with evidence based proof as to why basketball needs to and gets to begin workouts and practices before VB?

@EffortPR @lindseybartle What Lindsey’s original post is referring to is the NCAA rule about spring practices. Fall sports like volleyball and soccer are not permitted to start until a date in August while basketball is permitted summer access to coaching/training in June and July.
