Kelvin Sampson shares what separates good programs from great ones. It comes down to 3 things. "The best teams come from the coaching staffs that are the best demanders. There are certain non-negotiables." "We're not going to sit down and talk about this...This is the way it's done and we expect this effort." No debate. No negotiation. Just the standard. "And those eventually will be called standards. So - standards, accountability, and then we've raised our expectations." "Here's our expectations, and our expectation is probably a little bit higher than most people's. We don't talk about them." The standard is how you operate every day. "We practiced this morning at 6:00. Probably our best practice in the last 6 or 7 days. But that's because our standards are raising. Our kids are holding each other accountable now." Then he said the line that defines a great program: "That's when you know you've got a great program." When the players hold each other accountable not just the coaches. That's when you've built something real. The formula is: 1. Standards 2. Accountability 3. Raised Expectations. A great team isn't made of individuals seeking personal glory - it's made of people who hold each other accountable and work towards a common goal (🎥 March Madness)

The week after the season concludes is always the most difficult for me. I’ll forever be grateful to these young men for always playing with the most effort and integrity as possible! Special group! 21 win season while playing a tough schedule #AWTWD 🔺

First year, 6-23, second year 16-16, third year 21-10. Back to back 2nd place finishes in 2-5A, back to back State Playoff births, 2nd place in the CD Jarvis, Consolation Champions in the FHS Tournament. All credit to the boys for all their hard work and discipline! #AWTWD 🔺

Year 3! It’s crazy how fast these seasons fly by, but I’m forever grateful to lead the EMPIRE 🔺 All I’ve ever preached is improvement and growth.. Getting better daily! My family can tell you that I put my heart and soul into this program to try to help my boys see success.

Our season has come to an end as we lose to Chapin, 45-40. E. Velasquez- 12 J. Villalobos- 15 Thanks to all our administration, family, and supporters for traveling to the game! Your support and dedication meant a lot to the boys. #AWTWD 🔺

Not the results we wanted but major improvement from last year. Many accomplishments were achieved as a result of the hard work that was put in by our guys at all three levels. Blessed to be coaching our guys at The Empire!
