Expelling Ambassadors, or declaring diplomats persona non grata, is precisely the wrong direction to go in. New Zealand supports the role of @antonioguterres, as UN Secretary-General, to travel widely around the world to support peace & prosperity and foster dialogue & understanding. We were pleased to host him recently in Auckland to discuss the challenges the world faces - and to travel with him to the Pacific Islands Forum in Tonga. We regret Israel's decision to declare the Secretary-General persona non grata. We reaffirm the important role he and the UN system can play in promoting conflict resolution - including in the Middle East. -WP

Solomon Islands has signed and ratified the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons #TPNW and will be legally bound by it from 23 December 2024. It is the 71st United Nations member state to ratify TPNW and the 11th Pacific island nation to do so. icanw.org/solomon_islands

I tweeted this after the December 2022 election. I got some flak for it. Ana has replied to every request I have put forward since the change of govt—even when she was on leave. Ana was never the problem. It was clearly the administration and the police leadership then.
