@camcycle @Sustrans @EastCambs The Sustrans remit was to look at connections between Ely and adjacent villages and towns (Soham, Littleport, Lt Downham, Stuntney...). It would be a valuable addition to look at traffic movement, including cycling, within Ely.

It's time that politicians of all parties worked together on a holistic vision for cycling in Ely with a plan for how to achieve it. @Sustrans' feasibility study for @EastCambs looked at the broader city and included suggestions such as making parts of Lynn Road one-way. /2

Lynn Road, Ely: "Hopkins Homes will seek to progress the application to not install a cycle route." This is NOT the message we need to see in our region, where developments should be improving facilities for people walking & cycling rather than adding additional pressures. /1

@camcycle Lynn Road is the most important Ely route for cyclists that needs to be developed.

Reach Fair is on Bank Holiday Monday 5 May this year. As usual, areas for cycle parking will be provided. Have you considered cycling from Ely? The ride follows National Cycle Network route 11 alongside the river then across Wicken Fen, just short of 13 miles.

@flisty Burwell Lode Bridge, just south of Wicken Fen would be difficult with a cargo bike without others helping. A diversion starting at Little Fen Drove then through Burwell town would avoid this awkward bridge.
