Today, we received humanitarian supplies valued at approximately KSh 23 million from the Government of Belarus to support ongoing disaster response efforts in Kenya following floods that have affected thousands of households across the country.
The consignment of non-food items, including clothes, tents and footwear, was handed over by Belarus Ambassador to Kenya H.E. Dzmitry Krasouski and will provide critical relief to households affected by the heavy rains and flooding in several parts of the country.
I thank the Government and people of Belarus for this timely gesture of solidarity. The support will go a long way in restoring dignity and offering hope to displaced families while strengthening the growing partnership between Kenya and Belarus in humanitarian assistance and disaster response.
