The Trinity was not ruptured at the cross. Father, Son, and Spirit were united in the act of atonement. Keeping this in view guards against many theological errors!

Jesus didn't hangout with sinners because he affirmed and accepted their lifestyles. He spent time with sinners to show them their need for a Savior, and to teach them a different way of living.

"The persistence of antisemitism cannot be understood apart from modern humanity’s loss of a moral vocabulary. Cultural historian Andrew Delbanco observed that modern societies have lost the language to speak meaningfully about evil. We still witness cruelty and destruction, but we explain them away as social dysfunction or psychological damage. Evil, once seen as rebellion against divine order, is now treated as pathology, misunderstanding, or accident. This shift has stripped moral clarity from public life. Without the framework of transcendence, the concept of sin evaporates, and all behavior becomes morally negotiable." Dr Tim Orr

I have a presentation where I place the Old Testament robes of the high priest on a model and give it New Testament application. Jesus became both the priest who offered the sacrifice, and the sacrifice that was offered! #GreenvilleSC #BibleStudy

@JoshuaBarzon I have the robes of the high priest and do a presentation where I place each piece on a model and give New Testament application. My husband is often the model!

Every element of the High Priest's garments was prescribed by God in Exodus 28. The breastplate carried the names of the twelve tribes over his heart. The turban bore the words "Holy to the Lord." He did not dress to impress. He dressed to represent. Hebrews 4 tells us who our High Priest is now.

I know people have different schedules, and some are morning people, others night owls. But do you think 10 am on a Saturday is an optimal time to gather for thoughtful discussion - theology, philosophy, etc? I think not, myself. Horrible time.

Dear Social Media- God sometimes mocks (Ps 2:4) and so some things deserve it. Yet those who habitually and constantly mock, who ‘sit in the seat of mockers’ (Ps 1:1), are in great spiritual danger. Mockers nurture high pride in themselves (Prov 21:24), which appears knowing and sophisticated, but ruins relationships (Prov 22:10; 29:8) and cuts them off from truth that only the humble discover (Prov 9:7-8,12; 15:12; cf. 1 Peter 5:5). To ‘see through’ everything is the same as not to see. (C.S. Lewis). Preachers and teachers who engage in a great deal of mockery toward their opponents, instead of speaking the truth in love (Eph 4:15; Gal 6:1; 2Tim 2:24-26), often nurture an abusive spirit that brings down their own ministries in disgrace. There are many on social media whose main goal, stance, and practice is to mock and deride the people whose positions they oppose. But this is spiritually dangerous for them, and it accomplishes nothing for their side. God mocks proud mockers but shows favor to the humble and the oppressed. (Prov 3:34)

This attitude dehumanizes persons with disabilities and makes all of us more precarious because any of us could need such help one day.

@AberdareNic @historykev @fleurmeston I’m not sure why people find it so hard to understand that to many of us the loss of control to the point a stranger has to wipe your arse for you is utterly abhorrent and not an acceptable outcome we are willing to endure.

Everyone loves to reminisce about the 1979s-1990s when all the neighborhood were full of kids running around like this But no one talks about many of them being latchkey kids who raised themselves and who as they got older were often creepy and mean and into drugs.

In an interview in 1974, Richard Wurmbrand, a Romanian pastor once imprisoned for 14 years, shared an important insight on the reason he experienced such intense persecution under Communist leaders: Pat Robertson: "That was your only crime, that you said, I want to bring men to eternal life, tell them they have an immortal soul, tell them about Jesus?" Wurmbrand: "Well, I would not say that this is the only thing. So much they would have allowed. Nothing would have happened to St. John the Baptist if he would have said only, 'Repent. The Kingdom of Heaven is near,' but when he said, 'You, Herod, are bad,' then he was beheaded. Jesus could have delivered hundreds of sermons on the mount and parables. Nothing would have happened to Him, but when He said, 'Woe unto you, hypocrite Pharisees,' then He was lost. And in preaching the Gospel, you have to do two things: to proclaim the Kingdom, but also to denounce sin. And we did this side, and the greatest sin committed in humanity today is Communism, not only that it has killed 60 million people in Red China and 30 million in Russia, but it poisons youth and children with atheism. It uses brainwashing. It puts Christians in psychiatric exams, not only in prisons where simply they break their will and their mind, and they try to subvert the whole world with Communism. So I preached both sides of the Gospel. I denounced the sin, and at the same time, I extended to them the invitation to come to the Kingdom."
