@akevittnvg Haha I just wanted to make sure you were aware lol we have this colloquial term called "busting your balls" where we say mean things to our friends and people we like that sound harsh but are entirely sarcastic. For example A - "I went on a date" B - "So who was the lucky guy?"

Tip for Japanese people, we use a lot of sarcasm in English. Just because it sounds harsh, doesn't mean we actually meant it that way. It's really difficult to tell through written text. (The joke was hilarious by the way)

@AiPinfu2003 Unfortunately manga here in America is expensive to buy in volumes so I mainly use the Shonen Jump app, besides series i want to collect (I am currently collecting Fire Force). Chainsaw Man, Dandadan, and JJK are all very popular here right now

I can't speak for all Americans obviously, but the attack on Pearl Harbor wasn't the same Japan of today. That was the result of propaganda by power hungry leaders who twisted the Japanese people into fighting in WWII. Just like I don't blame people in Germany today for Nazis.

Yeah, a lot of the American South doesn't understand Yankee as anything other than an insult, and a lot of the rest do not understand the Japanese intent behind the word Yankee. (Only those of that watched a ton of anime or lived in Japan get that tbh)
