Am I wrong for walking out of a restaurant because of a tipping sign on the door? 🤔 For context, I always tip—typically 20% or more—and I’ve worked in service jobs, so I understand how important tips are. But yesterday I saw a large handwritten sign that said: “Our servers make $3.50/hr… If you can’t afford to tip, you can’t afford to dine out.” I stopped for a moment… and then I turned around and left. I fully support tipping for good service. What doesn’t sit right with me is being guilt-tripped before I’ve even walked in, looked at a menu, or been served. Paying employees fairly is part of running a business. When a restaurant leads with pressure like that, it feels like the responsibility is being shifted onto customers in a way that’s hard to ignore. I didn’t leave because I refuse to tip—I left because I don’t believe in tipping under pressure or shame. What do you think—was walking out an overreaction, or is this a fair response to how some restaurants handle the tipping system?

@xynifyy Yes and no. She ran up on him and she is the aggressor. But, She’s shorter (leverage), weaker (muscle) has less momentum and clearly not 100% sober. He could have just easily shoved her. Her attack was probably 3rd degree assault, but his slap was premeditated murder.
