@UsagiKaede1 The ability of the artist to mix styles, 2D and 3D shapes with a near photo-realistic person is undeniably very impressive. It however still gives me the feeling of orange juice with sharp mint ice-cream, but for my eye-balls.

5+ years ago Marvel wouldve been huge. Now it'll be fine, but probably not printing money like FF was. Hobbit should be fun, but still salivating for strixhaven 🤤

Not to say the IP is toxic or ill in some way, it just doesn't have the draw of FF or ATLA and the like.

I think it would be interesting to see how well TMNT would've done had it be a normal magic set, set in some unknown plane, or heck back on Ikiora or somewhere. It probably would've done way better than it is, with so many people turning away from it due to the IP.

@SaffronOlive Blocks for actual Magic sets, but only one set for UB? Would also help keep the story more focused.

I used to want blocks back, but now I'm not so sure. Lorwyn Eclipsed block would probably be great, but the thought of spending several sets in a row on Spider-Man or Marvel is pretty scary. Blocks are great when you like the plane, but if not... youtube.com/watch?v=DJAonM…

Our main issue is people that use proxies as a shield for their deck building, rather than any financial issue. Fully proxy a bracket 3 deck and we certainly don't care! Proxies should realistically be there for cards that are a stupid price, for no real good reason, but you have them and play with other decks at the same appropriate power level.

Proxies, for us, aren't a big issue. It always seems to stem from the power imbalance of the proxy itself brought about by a bad (or non-existant) rule 0 conversation. If you're playing a proxy of a doomblade because you can't find one no-one cares. Proxying a gaea's cradle a pretty casual table is quite different.
