Sources: Colts and Kenny Moore II mutually have agreed to seek a trade and a new home for the veteran cornerback. Moore is entering the last year of his contract, and both sides feel it is time to explore a trade.

I think people are underrating how opening the door for new players to take on bigger roles has actually made the team better.
It doesn’t necessarily look pretty in March, and that’s ok!
But the deals the Colts haven’t made are just as important as the ones they have imo

If $50 M per year was Jones’s counteroffer, it makes Ballard’s decision to tag Jones and not Pierce that much more idiotic. Tag Pierce and wait for Jones to come crawling back hoping your original offer is still on the table because no other team is offering close to that. #Colts

Per @AlbertBreer, the #Colts offered QB Daniel Jones a contract similar to the one Sam Darnold signed with the Seahawks (3 years $100.5 million). Jones’s camp counter offered a deal which would pay him around $50 million per year.

This is what the franchise tag would've been. If they had to, the Colts should've tagged Pierce and then matched whatever Daniel Jones' best offer was. Or better yet, tried to get on the $1.3M Kyler Murray sweepstakes.

To even think about paying a guy 40+ million coming off an Achilles injury, a player with 2 good seasons in his career, and is hurt a ton IS INSANE. I agree with Ballard on that. I wouldn't have bothered with a transition tag. Let him go to the Jets or wherever honestly. I am FAR MORE pissed we didn't tag Pierce. I know people are tired of the QB carousel. I get it, but being fiscally stupid with a contract is worse IMO. That would set this franchise back into the dark ages bc the Colts would have NO MONEY to pay anyone.

I hope the #Colts lose both Jones and Pierce because Ballard has so epically mismanaged this situation. Tag Pierce because he’s the better player plus you know Kyler, Tua, Fields and other similar QBs to Jones, but not coming off Achilles ruptures, are likely available. So dumb.
