1 Corinthans 15:52 indicates our raised bodies will be sinless. 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. No need for purgatory as our salvation in Christ is complete.

This is the fundamental problem with purgatory theology. We are cleansed by Jesus’s blood and have no power to undo that cleansing. Do you think Jesus, who died before our sins even happened, is, at salvation, only capable of cleansing sins that have already happened?
Leif Fish@LeifFish

@farmingandJesus You are right to say that you are fully cleansed when you first come into right relationship with Christ through the faith, but I think you might be misunderstanding what can happen to our souls when we live anything less then a perfectly sinless life after that.

@AL_J82 All I need to read is the written Word of God— the bible. Just like the believers in the 1st Century, before the church fathers and later history did.

Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholics: "to read church history is to cease to be protestant." (Protestant read church history) Also Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholics: "You're QUOTE MINING!" You're CHERRY PICKING!" "All the fathers didn't agree!" "You gotta read the original Latin!" "We don't have to follow everything they say!!"

Paul's start to his teaching on marriage. 1 Cor 7:1–2 Now concerning the things of which you wrote to me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.

“In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at twilight, is the Lord’s Passover. And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to the Lord; for seven days you shall eat unleavened bread.” Leviticus 23:5-6 ESV ““Let the people of Israel keep the Passover at its appointed time. On the fourteenth day of this month, at twilight, you shall keep it at its appointed time; according to all its statutes and all its rules you shall keep it.” So Moses told the people of Israel that they should keep the Passover. And they kept the Passover in the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, at twilight, in the wilderness of Sinai; according to all that the Lord commanded Moses, so the people of Israel did.” Numbers 9:2-5 ESV You’re welcome.

Jude 1:7 has entered the chat just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire. Unnatural desire is sexual relations contrary to nature, such as same-sex intercourse and in other texts as bestiality
Pastor Ben@BenjaminPDixon

Dang... somebody should have told Jaden Ivey that the true sin of Sodom according to the Book of Ezekiel was their inhospitality, idleness, and the fact that they were a GANG RAPE MOB roaming the city. Yall homophobia masked as religion is wild

@BiblicalBeauty Psalm 144:1–2 Blessed be the Lord my Rock, Who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle— My lovingkindness and my fortress, My high tower and my deliverer, My shield and the One in whom I take refuge, Who subdues my people under me.

@JennMGreenberg Another fact seldom mentioned is that God gave the command to not eat the forbidden fruit BEFORE He created Eve. She added to the command when responding to the serpent. But how did she learn it? From Adam or from God.

Obey this command and you get called "judgmental." Yet this is what God, through Paul commanded. 1Cor 5:9–11 I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people. Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person.

@pimomormon Their bodies started to age and decay, eventually dying, after they sinned. More immediately, they died spiritually and thus got separated from God.

God said Adam and Eve would “surely die” the same day they ate the forbidden fruit. Adam and Eve almost lived (according to the Bible) for a thousand years. And we’re told that god tells the truth?

One of the most common misconceptions about Scripture that I’ve personally encountered is the idea that Satan and Eve were alone when they spoke, and Eve took the fruit to Adam who was off tilling a vegetable bed or something. In actuality, Adam was right there the entire time.
