one of my favorite quotes:
if you love comic sans, you know nothing about typography,
if you hate comic sans, you know nothing about typography.
I like it because it applies so many things – e.g. web3! it's so easy to either dismiss web3 altogether, or jump on the hype train. Example:
Take NFTs: to the left curve they are JPEGs that can be right-click-saved-as, and therefore stupid. But if you peak under the surface, what NFTs actually are, is a way to prove uniqueness and ownership over something.
Decentralization is not just a fun comp sci exercise - it enables this ownership to cross app boundaries. This is especially important in a digital world that is becoming increasingly monopolized by a few apps and who are coincidently slowly restricting API access (twitter/reddit are recent examples).
Things seem useless until they aren't.
Are there things to fix and lots of useless shit? Absolutely, but don't dismiss all of it because of that.
