Death comes for everyone, righteous or not. So how can the wages of sin be death?

@pimomormon Paul interprets it the same way: Romans 5:12 — death entered through sin Ephesians 2:1 — people can be “dead” while still physically alive 1 Corinthians 15:22 — “in Adam all die” So no, God did not lie. This is just a bad reading of the text.

God said Adam and Eve would “surely die” the same day they ate the forbidden fruit. Adam and Eve almost lived (according to the Bible) for a thousand years. And we’re told that god tells the truth?
