Realized I haven't replaced the pinned tweet so- Update for February! TLDR: Kicked out, safely moved to new location, adjustment period, delay in all art creation temporarily, can still stream, cut off from family, time to heal. Thank you all for your patience and support!

Let's put this in perspective, since we are lacking comprehension here. Etsy - 6.5% Shopify - 5% Squarespace - 3% Wix - 4% and payment services have their own processing fees. Venue Table - 200 - 2,000$+ USD To sell, you need to maintain, to maintain, a portion of profit goes to the host. This is general business comprehension, my gamers. Ya'll have no problems paying all the subscription services known to man but god forbid you pay fees to do business at storefronts.

this!! I've always been annoyed by this when we smaller creators voice our concerns about healthy growth for more stability. It always widdles down to "you aren't appreciative for what you have, people would kill to have 20+ viewers!" In what way of voicing concern or wishing for more financial stability, growth, and opportunity is un-appreciative? Especially when we as creators, spend so much of our time and really invest in this to make content creation, streaming, etc work. It's not that we EXPECT a guaranteed return or huge things. We just don't want all our hard work to mean nothing, every creator deserves a chance. It is very much okay to be concerned.

Big creator voicing concerns about people not watching their content: 🗣️ "Omg don't be worried! We will always be here for you! You deserve more views!!!" Small creator voicing concerns about people not watching their content: 🗣️ "You should be happy with having even 1 person watching what you do. Why are you so greedy? Are the views you have not enough?" There is always this weird double standard I see where larger creators are worried about something and get tons of support for their concerns but a smaller creators is worried about the same thing and is treated like they did something super wrong... Make it make sense.

@Fuululuu I always found this mindset funny after working for ecommerce platforms for 10 years. Like, sure you can consider the fee high but you know what will cost more? Doing it yourself (in most cases).

if anyone has a problem with anything in this clip, you should probably self-reflect. Streaming IS EASIER than most jobs. Becoming a SUCCESSFUL streamer is NOT easy. "You are just yapping at a computer for hours" Actually content creation has so much more to it, you need to network, brand yourself, make/commission assets, be organized, figure out taxes or hire someone cuz most likely its A PAIN IN THE ASS, spend hours editing and marketing, etcetc. It is also A HUGE investment and risk to be a self-made content creator. Bffr. I understand how people that work hard labor jobs are pissed when others are making money working from home but please don't treat people disrespectf ully and just say that everything surface level is easy. If it was so easy and guaranteed , I think literally everyone and their mother would be out here doing this?? So yeah- go live. Manage 1.2k+ viewers, go ahead and tell me how easy that is to manage by yourself.

you can really tell when someone is new to online creation when they get upset about vgen's 5% fee. patreon takes 8%. fansites take an avg of 20%. twitch takes 50% from most people please realize that ALL services and platforms cost money, and vgen is very lax on their fees

In order to properly calculate how to add fees to your base price, you need to know exactly how much you're paying in fees. #NyxGothicaTips Let's say you pay VGen 5% for each transaction, and on top of that you have Paypal or Stripe fees. You need to figure out exactly how much these fees are individually, then add to your base price. For example: Let's say you have a service that is 100.00 USD. To this, add 5% on the calculator. That comes to a total of 105.00 USD. Now, figure out your Paypal and Stripe fees individually (whether you allow VGen payments or not). In my specific case, I pay Paypal 6% in fees due to my location. This might differ depending on your own location, so you have to look this up yourself. Using my own example, 105.00 USD + 6% = 111.30 USD. If you're also using VGen payments which is Stripe, add 2.9% + $0.30 to that number. This comes around to 114.83 USD. You can round it up to 115.00 USD if you'd prefer an even number. Now, set your final service price to 115.00 USD if you want to receive 100.00 USD. If you have add-ons for this service, let's say each add-on is 50.00 USD, you do the math for each individual add-on price. So in this case, this add-on would be 57.57 USD. You can round it up to 58.00 USD for an even number. Now list the final add-on price to that. This way, you can offset the fees and take home the intended amount, or at least very close to it (exchange rate is another beast that you should also keep track of depending on your location, and factor that % into the price too). Also, the space for 'Sales Tax' in your VGen form is NOT for platform fees. That space is exclusively for taxes that you pay to your government. You should NOT use that to offset fee costs, you can get in trouble for that. Use it ONLY if you pay taxes legally, using your mandated Legal Tax %. Otherwise, leave it empty. The final price for your service should already factor any platform fees in, so there's no confusion for your clients. You shouldn't be asking them to offset fee costs either, since that is against most platforms' TOS. Better be safe than sorry! Take care! 💗

@Fuululuu The best approach is to avoid updating unless you need a specific feature. If everything is working as expected then there’s little benefit in making changes. In my experience, updates often introduce unexpected issues.

For those of you that don't use OBS / Streamlabs OBS What the heck you be using? Because HIGHKEY I am TIRED of OBS always having issues. 3 separate computers and a different issue on all of them throughout the years and they are always the most exhausting issues too.

I use OBS not stream labs. I have disabled all plugins and have reinstalled the program fresh with deleting all previous settings, scenes etc The only plug in I use is Spout2 and even without it I get crashes. I’ve updated GPU, Windows, downgraded versions of OBS, Admin, Safemode, etc. Nothing has made a difference.

@Fuululuu Don't use Streamlabs OBS: it is a bloated resource hog. As for OBS issues: typically issues with OBS are plugin related. Very rarely it is something that isn't plugin related. In fact, there are a lot of popular plugins that are just unstable and cause OBS to crash.

I had a consistent issue years ago that was from 2 specific versions of OBS, it lasted 2 months where my streams would just disconnect midway through. I was told it was an ISP issue through OBS discord support, I had them come out 3 times to diagnose my internet and even got a new modem. It was not my internet but instead, at the time it was conflicting with Vanguard. Now my issue is on Windows 11, ver 32.0.4 - sometimes when I open OBS by normal means, admin or safe, the window flashes, goes white and is needed to be forced closed. I have reinstalled, I have downgraded versions, I have disabled plug ins, I only use Spout2 on this PC and even without it OBS still does this. Even with no sources, up to date GPU drivers and Windows. I saw one other user who posted about this on GitHub but didn’t specify a solution.

@Fuululuu What are u using? I can 100% tell that is a user error. I run a dual PC setup and my OBS didn't broke since at least 4years and I also running the beta version. 1 Trick if u didn't do is downloading OBS as a zip and use it in portable mode. Easier backup, everything in one place
