The season Arsenal were top of the league, Eddie Nketiah was our striker and he scored in games like Man Utd to win it for us. Soon as Gabriel Jesus was fit, he was brought back in. Eddie was benched and City won it. Seems Arteta has not learnt if he benches Gyokeres again.

I find it so odd how this is being framed as Arsenal fans making the players nervous rather than it being the other way round. There was no nervousness in the crowd in previous seasons when we were actually capable of progressing the ball!

It’s crazy how that Saliba injury in 22/23 changed our entire trajectory. If he was fit Arteta wins early and does so playing amazing football. We build on that philosophy and likely win more titles. Instead, destiny pushed us to a more pragmatic, physical style on small margins.

Early morning thoughts
Going into the Etihad not starting our £60M striker and there being serious debate on whether £50M Madueke should start too tells you everything.
And my stance was that I wouldn’t have started Madueke or Gyokeres. The former was rightly hooked and we need to have a conversation on what he’s served up this season.
Ultimately, this is all a telling indictment of our attacking recruitment in the summer.

Calafiori needs to go. Amazing, but can’t stay fit. Unreliable. Sell.

Havertz criticism after yesterday is funny. He HAD to score one of those two chances .. but he’s still way better than Gyokeres. Goal aside, he pinned their CB’s and without him we’d have not got a sniff.
We need to upgrade on BOTH, but between Havertz and Gyok, it’s not close.
