One of Citadel's strongest alphas is their macro factor which uses Polymarket entirely. Have heard this from 3 people now, one directly who works there.

Few people know Ludwig von Mises had a brother: Richard von Mises. Richard was a major Austrian mathematician and scientist who worked in aerodynamics, fluid mechanics, probability, statistics, and applied mathematics, later becoming a professor at Harvard University. While Ludwig built praxeology and apriorism, Richard moved in the opposite direction: empiricism, neo-positivism, and circles close to the early Vienna Circle. Two brothers from the same family, two radically different paths on knowledge itself: Ludwig: reason first. Richard: experience first. An underrated intellectual contrast of the 20th century.

reading this for something i'm working on and it's remarkable (but unsurprising at this point) how much AI people in 2026 sound like computer people in the later 60s.... Dreyfus's skepticism is depressingly fresh

Jane Street interviews are going viral again — especially the legendary “0.95 huh?” moment. Interviewer asks for confidence on your answer. You say 0.95. They just smile and reply: “0.95 huh?” Most people see comedy. Others see the deepest test in quant hiring: calibration under pressure.
