Page-Berger race: NCSBE says there are 379 provisional ballots in Rockingham (137) and Guilford Counties (242). Of the 242, not all will be in SD26. Of the 379, most will not be counted. But with a margin of only 2 votes, whatever is counted will have an impact. From NCSBE: Provisional ballots must be counted by 5 p.m. on the Friday after Election Day. If the board determines that the voter is eligible, the provisional ballot is counted. If the voter is eligible for some contests on the ballot but not others, only the eligible contests will be counted for that voter.

Unofficial results show NC State Senate Leader Phil Berger, the most powerful politician in North Carolina, lost his primary by 2 votes. 2 votes! This isn’t done yet—there’ll be recounts in the days to come—but don’t let people tell you that your vote doesn’t matter #ncpol

NEW: UNC-Chapel Hill WILL raise in-state tuition by 3%, or $211, for 2026-27. Follows two days of extensive, convoluted debate and a committee asking for a new proposal from staff. Administration stuck to their initial plan, which got 6-5 approval today. (Four trustees absent.)
