Ancient Persia should be far more central to how we tell the story of civilization.
This is the Gate of All Nations at Persepolis, built under Xerxes I in the 5th century BCE, where empire, art, language, and power met in stone.
Yet Persia is still too often reduced to a footnote in Greek history instead of recognized as one of the ancient world’s greatest cultural centers.
