Let's connect some dots: Mike Tomlin played on the William & Mary team for which Dan Quinn had his first assistant job. The next year, 1995, they were both assistants at VMI.

I feel like every TV composer has overdosed on "wow the SAME THEME is REHARMONISED in DIFFERENT CONTEXTS" YouTube videos at this point - it is ok (in fact it is cool) to write more than one theme so we don't have to hear the same 3 note melody 19 million times thank you

It's not a good thing when the company that produces something you like is bought. The purchasing company thinks it can get more money out of you. It is also not good when a TV station/streaming service pays more for a sport you like. That service thinks it can charge more.
