Congratulations to Montenegro - today we took a big step towards your accession to the European Union. The decision to establish the Working Party to draft the new Accession Treaty is a key milestone. For the first time since 2013, the EU starts the clock for the next enlargement. @CY2026EU

Montenegro’s place inside the EU is now taking shape. Today, Member States decided to start drafting Montenegro’s EU Accession Treaty. This is a major step on the path to EU membership, a clear recognition of Montenegro’s progress, and an encouragement to accelerate reforms. It also offers a chance to draw lessons from past enlargements and include new and stronger safeguards in future accession treaties to prevent backsliding on the rule of law and fundamental values.

10 years ago, Brussels and the entire country stood still. 🇧🇪 This city showed resilience in the aftermath of attacks, and collective strength helps to heal its people. Today, we honour the victims and those who still carry the weight of that day. We will never forget. 🕯️

Ne postoji snažniji garant očuvanja državnosti Crne Gore od njenog što skorijeg članstva u EU. To je naš ključni spoljnopolitički cilj. Zato svaka navodna “odbrana” države koja dolazi iz DPS-a više liči na pokušaj obmane nego na istinsku brigu za njenu budućnost. Da im je zaista bilo do države, izgradili bi jake i nezavisne institucije. Da im je bilo do EU, Crna Gora bi već bila članica. Ljubav prema Crnoj Gori ne dokazuje se parolama i simbolima, već konkretnim rezultatima — zatvaranjem pregovaračkih poglavlja, izgradnjom institucija i vladavinom prava. Država se ne štiti prikrivanjem onih koji su je godinama potkopavali kroz kriminal i zloupotrebe.

Pohvaljeni napori Crne Gore u brzim reformama i usklađivanju javnih politika sa EU standardima. U susret Međuvladinoj konferenciji, na kojoj će 🇲🇪 zatvoriti još jedno poglavlje sa 🇪🇺, razgovarali smo sa evropskom komesarkom za proširenje Martom Kos. Kvalitet i dinamika pregovaračkog procesa garant su ostvarenja cilja #28by28
