NPC really is a Devo comp. Why don't they play NPC during the Super Rugby season, so Super coaches can call battle hardened players into their squads.... and send wider squad members back to NPC to stay match fit.

@RH21156763 @epicurbanism They've tried expanding Super and it's tanked. Rebels bust, Brumbies one of the more successful teams in debt, Jaguares gone. Sunwolves gone. Boks gone. I don't know how it expands. Not to US, MLR unsustainable. I think NPC should be semi pro with players working during day.

My vision for NZ game. Everyone supports one team, the ABs. Revenue through Pay TV, online subscriptions, merch & selling out all domestic tests. Super Rugby leaking money, Amateur game a hobby now. Let all the ABs play in Japan. Play NPC with ANZAC-Drua-MP knockout comp

Hearing about all these madcapped Super Rugby changes in the pipeline ... NZ Rugby in my opinion have sat on their hands for far too long, completely overcooking our Golden Goose and the game will never ever recover in New Zealand. Sad to think how strong grassroots once was.

@HarryCurtin @russellearnshaw For me there are two layers to this mate: 1) What does the next opposition do that might help us prioritise our work on’s from the previous game? 2) What does the next opposition do that is likely to cause us issues. Practice design then needs to reflect this for sure.

Coaching question: Lots of sports programs have access to opposition footage and undertake reviews prior to competing against a team. Do you intentionally incorporate your learnings from the reviews into your practice design? If so, how do you do it?

Been quite enjoying @usmlr of late. Anyone got any recommendations of which club I should start supporting?

@philllewellyn What evidence is there that it will make the game safer? All studies that I’ve seen show that the majority of ball carry/tackle concussions come from the tacklers head making contact with the ball carriers knee or hip.

Big news! If it means players are safer and more likely to remain in the game then this should be seen as a positive move. It will take a big adjustment for sure but plenty of time to rework principles and techniques between now and next season.
