@DrAnkitKPatel It’s a great question. These healthy fats are nutrient dense, but calorie dense as well. I would say incorporate these healthy fats as often as you can but know the serving size. One whole avocado could have 300 calories. A serving is actually only 1/3 - 1/5 depending on the size

@DrAnkitKPatel @HeartDrK @DrWeil It’s imperative we shift the conversation regarding fat intake and risk. I often reference the Minnesota Coronary Experiment with patients. Maybe it’s not the saturated fat so much as what we are replacing that fat with? bmj.com/content/353/bm…

@DrAnkitKPatel I think a plant based diet has proven to be beneficial for numerous disease states, including ischemic heart disease. Don’t want to fully commit? Alternate days you eat animal products. Just don’t forget zinc, B12, calcium and iron!! ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/26853…

I also do 4-7-8 breathing throughout the day...easy to do and can be done anywhere. Try it in the car, elevator, or before you start a case. Have a great day!
