EASTER 2026! Just a usual day at work at STWA!

RUGBY ELECTIVE! 🏉 It was amazing to turn around and the pupils taking it upon themselves to perform The Haka against their peers that they’ve learnt in the Electives programme at STWA! They’ve also learnt about the culture and history of the traditional Moari war dance!

NATIONAL LEAGUE MATCH OFFICIAL ✅ A great first run out as a member of the @RFU_Refs at @hullrugbyunion as they took on @fylderugby!

VOTES FOR SCHOOLS! It is always great to see the mass participation of Y7 at STWA involved in @votesforschools every week and this week was no different as they were posed the question of ‘Is global politics relevant to you?’

And what a day it was!

STWA PANTOMIME TRIP! 🎭 Today we took the whole Y7 cohort to watch Cinderrela at @castindoncaster and what a great afternoon it was! Pupils were outstanding in the audience and some staff members even had a cameo appearance on stage! #EnrichingLives

STWA CHRISTMAS BAKE OFF! 🎄 🧁 This year my daughter and I entered the STWA Christmas baking competition and walked away with the Principles Winner! Watch out @BritishBakeOff we are coming for you in the future! Thank you @macca_mjm!

Really simple. Good coffee. Good food. Good fun and time. In our November Inset we always give staff unstructured time to just talk. Human connections matter to us. Brilliant day with brilliant people.

TRIP SUCCESS! Another successful trip to watch a sporting fixture and this time it was the turn of @EnglandRugby v @fijirugby at @allianz_stad, in which 28 @STWAcademy pupils thoroughly enjoyed their exceptional experience!

Truly inspirational speech this morning from Baroness Sue Campbell on how she changed the Sport & Physical Activity across England from grassroots to Elite sport as well as what educators can do to support! A full circle moment after studying her work whilst at @sheffhallamuni!

HALF TERM ONE ✅ It was great to finish the half-term with Half Term Heroes for Y7! It was amazing to see the celebration of the whole year group. The suprise and shock on the winners faces who were nominated by their teachers was incredible to see! @e__dixon @STWAcademy

Y7 INVESTMENT IN LEARNING EVENING ✅ This evening was my first opportunity as a Student Achievement Leader to lead on an event like this and the numbers in attendance and the feedback received has blown me away! A massive shout out to the teachers and support staff of STWA!

WORLD ARTHRITIS DAY 2025! Over 10 years diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and still learning everyday!

Another successful and record breaking open evening!

@votesforschools ✅ Each week the Y7 cohort discuss and vote on the topic delivered together as one, it has been great to see the high levels of investment and development of their oracy skills across the first few weeks of term!

WEEK ONE ✅ An incredible start to the academic year this week, working alongside some great members of staff and pupils who want to be in school and learning every lesson! Time to rest up and go again on Monday!

NEW YEAR, NEW POSITION! It has been great to welcome the new Y7 cohort as Student Achievement Leader to STWA today! Lots of smiles on pupils faces and excitement for their secondary school journey!
