@CherylSchatz If you claim that this Biblical view portrays "God as unloving" then your next logical step would be to become a universalist and say "the idea of people ending up in Hell portrays God as unloving." You're doing the exact same thing as the universalist. Romans 9:20

My poll shows that the vast majority of people who understand Calvinism, know that Calvinism says God designated people as the non-elect for whom Jesus would not die for, and this happened before the world began. Think about how Calvinism portrays God as unloving.

@Soteriology101 Philippians 2:13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. You may not like it, but it is true that any good in us is a grace of God. Our will IS (Biblically) to sin. That does not give one an excuse to sin as we are still accountable.

Claiming it takes some type of irresistible miraculous grace in order to do what’s right gives mankind the perfect excuse for doing what’s wrong. Why did you do wrong? “I literally needed a miracle of God to make the right decision and apparently I didn’t get one. 🤷‍♂️ ”

“For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.” Romans 8:7-8 ESV

@Soteriology101 It says it all in Romans 8:30: and those whom He predestined, He also called; and those whom He called, He also justified; and those whom He justified, He also glorified. He predestines, He effectually calls to salvation, He justifies, & preserves to the end to be glorified.

@Soteriology101 Romans 8:28 is the order of salvation. God foreknew (foreordained) those for the purpose of being conformed to Christ (again part of 1 package; if He predestines to be conformed to Christ which includes salvation; you cannot separate the 2 like you are trying to do).

Those IN CHRIST are PREDESTINED to become Holy, like Christ (Rm 8/Eph 1) Paul NEVER says some are predestined to be IN CHRIST!

Even Arminians/Provisionists believe Jesus saves only the elect. They just deny that God chose His elect before the foundation of the world “in order that God’s purpose of election might continue, not because of works” (Rom. 9:11) or any foreseen faith or merit.
Faith Reform@faith_reform

@WWUTTcom Classic example of proudly editing Scripture to fit theology - adding words that aren’t there. 1 John 2:2 ‘He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the WHOLE WORLD.’
