I first met little Tommy about 10 months ago… 🌴 He was about 2 months old in the jungle with no mum or siblings 🦠 He disappeared for 3 days with parvo and we thought he’d died. 🦴 He then had his leg / hip broken and hid himself away. Only a local lady was able to show me where he’d hidden 👩‍⚕️ We got his operation and rehabbed him for 6 months 🏡 Decided he couldn’t go back on the streets as he would die ✈️ Last week he flew to his forever him in England. He took it all in his stride. Travel, weather, new family. No problem for Tommy. Rehoming a few street dogs won’t solve the overall problem like I hope to do. But people always ask me how I get over all the hard losses etc. The answer is seeing the photos and videos of dogs like Tommy in the last 30 seconds of this video and the looks on his new mums face. Absolutely priceless. 🥰🙏 Well done Tommy you did it

Around your mid 30s is when you notice people stop taking up new hobbies the Majority or more or less solidified in their interests and routines So much of "aging" is simply becoming a more boring person

I’ve decided I need a new hobby for 2024. What do people do for fun? I’m not the most patient of people so I’m wondering if I would be able to teach myself to crochet or cross stitch 😅😂 I need something to occupy myself in the eves 🖤

I can never remember which oils... stick with clean sourced animal products, olive oil, and avocado oil. I think coconut oil is ok too.
Dr. Simon Goddek@goddek

Today, I am going to red-pill you about vegetable oils. Make sure you bookmark and share this post: 1. Unnatural Extraction Process: Unlike coconut or olive oil, which can be extracted through pressing, seed oils like canola, soybean, and corn oil require unnatural methods for extraction. They undergo processes involving high heat and chemical solvents like petroleum, leading to oxidation and the formation of trans fats even before they reach your kitchen. 2. A Modern Dietary Addition: Industrial seed oils are a recent addition to our diet, exploding in consumption from virtually zero in the early 1900s to 70 lbs per year per person today. This dramatic increase corresponds with a surge in chronic health issues, suggesting a link between seed oil consumption and modern diseases. 3. Omega-6 and Inflammation: Vegetable oils are high in Omega-6 fatty acids, especially linoleic acid, which is a precursor to pro-inflammatory eicosanoids. These molecules can cause chronic inflammation and contribute to autoimmune diseases. The excessive consumption of Omega-6, without the balance of Omega-3, exacerbates these health issues. 4. Oxidative Stress and Cancer: Studies have shown that diets high in vegetable oils, particularly linoleic acid, lead to oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, and genetic damage. These factors are instrumental in promoting cancer, with some studies revealing a fourfold increase in metastasis in diets high in these oils. 5. Increased Mortality Rate: Over a seven-year study, groups consuming high amounts of vegetable oil had a 62% greater all-cause mortality rate compared to those with lower consumption. This risk increase is more significant than that associated with heavy smoking or obesity. 6. Heart Disease Risk: The Minnesota Coronary Experiment found that participants who increased their intake of corn oil and margarine had an 86% higher incidence of heart attacks. Despite lower cholesterol levels, the vegetable oil group had a significantly higher mortality rate from heart attacks. 7. Cardiovascular Deaths: The MARGARIN Study revealed that the group consuming margarine high in linoleic acid from vegetable oils had a 700% higher rate of strokes, heart attacks, and cardiovascular deaths compared to a group consuming Omega-3-rich fish oil. This stark difference underscores the health risks of high vegetable oil consumption. Remember, the key to a healthier life is understanding what you're putting into your body. Rethink your oil choices and opt for natural, minimally processed fats. Cheers, Simon (@goddek)

@brettboettcher1 My husband and I affectionately call this meal dog food. My dear old dog ate like this for years. Can add any vegetable (cooked or raw) and season with any sauce. Yum!

I’ve eaten some version of this for the past 2 weeks. Burger in a bowl 1) Browned up 6 lbs of beef 2) Reheat beef in microwave and add garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper 3) Add fixings Lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, pickles, ketchup, mustard, cottage cheese If the goal was weight loss I’d: -increase the veggies -sub cheese for more cottage cheese -choose a leaner cut If the goal was weight gain I’d: -pour olive oil in -add avocado mayo -choose a fattier cut -eat more $2.99/meal Less than 5 minutes to reheat and eat Anywhere from 400-1200 calorie lunch depending on your goals Autopilot Health

Common sense explanation of non-masking behavior. I continue to mask in public despite husband and friends who choose not to. Last year I was the only teacher continuing to mask. Also didn’t miss school for illness unlike the others. I’ve never been one to follow the crowd.

An expansive musing thread on mask non-use, which I am now calling "mask akinesia". Every class I teach, I walk in with my mask and my Aranet4 CO2 detector, to measure air quality. I'm lucky: the rooms I teach in are always below 800ppm and often below 700ppm. 1/20

14/ Finally, there is one winner, who gets a sticker/treat. I time this just with the bell, but if it’s early, I do trivia (silent hands up, only) for the final seconds with the rest of the prizes. I front load that they must be seated when the bell rings, waiting for dismissal.

9/ When the work is out, I stand and monitor, moving my neck back and forth, making eye contact with each student. Then I circulate with purpose, looking at each assignment and giving non-verbal or verbal praise. “Here we go, now we’re talking. I need to see more writing.”

Our philosophy with our son in regards to diet has been to basically only feed him “superfoods” Things like eggs, beef, salmon, veggies, blueberries, etc (breast milk too obviously). He’s never had anything that didn’t come from nature. Now, obviously we’ll never know how much diet attributes to this but we hear all the time from other people who have had kids just how happy, well behaved, & how far ahead he is with development. However some people will tell us how bad we are because we’re “depriving” him by not letting have little treats & sweets… which is funny because he has absolutely no idea what he’s missing out on. Our philosophy is that in these crucial developmental stages, we’d rather do everything we can right even if it doesn’t actually do a thing, rather than give him tasty junk & potentially costs him some of his development potential. Not saying we’re right or wrong but just sharing our philosophy for those who ask.
