@SwampVGC @lorcylovesyou This a thousand times. The venues we had access to before the league changes could have supported this. With the requirement to play in a card shop the only option for many communities will be for the TO to purchase hardware and a data plan specifically to support it.

This combined with the rule change that strongly encourage locals to be at card shops is worrying. Been to too many shops with bad wifi. Wouldn’t be shocked to see low player caps at some locals to account for this. Colleges and libraries? Doubt they’d have these issues.

@Dimsunlight @playpokemon The yearly membership cost seems to be cheaper than buying two full price games with DLC every three years. More info is needed about what the membership includes, but this could be fine imo.

@xoakin @pseudonym_guess @Max_LJCR They released conflicting statements. They also said this regulation would run until Champions. Given that there was no new regulation released at the end of February, its clear that the March 31st statement was the incorrect one.

1. Pokemon company is arbitrarily deciding the costs of champions monetization. There is no physical materials cost.
2. The best F2P games in the world have almost 0 monetization for actual useful things like CHARACTERS.

@SableyeVGC Yeah I definitely enjoy and benefit from them. I just see this as a continuation of the simplification of the least impactful parts of the game in order to allow new players to jump in without taking a course on the game. After removing Hidden Power this seems like the next step.

@Jake_VGC 0 or 31 99% of the time sounds incorrect. We have multiple interactions where modifying IVs matters in this format alone (never mind all time) incin speed/amoonguss speed for ursaluna, to name a few.
It can be confusing, but they could have simplified without removing them imo

My take on potentially losing IVs:
If they were going to be re working the EV system anyways, why not just find a way to merge them together. I am all for ease of access, but losing the creativity here just feels like a lazy rework as opposed to actually addressing an issue

Do we lose some niche interactions without IVs? Yeah. But ultimately I think the changing of this mechanic makes the game more accessible and will ultimately be better for the health of competition. Cluttered speed tiers aside.

I feel like if we were getting a new regulation for April it would have been announced by now or at Seattle but it doesn't look like it's gonna happen on stream. Are we just under the assumption we're continuing on F? I feel like we should start sending support tickets

@TopSlotProtect @CbuttyVGC We would have had an announcement before the start of the month when the Regulation ends if VGC was switching April 1st. Clearly the announcement from TPCI is correct and a third party resource is wrong given the lack of change announcement. Everyone makes mistakes even VR.

@TopSlotProtect @CbuttyVGC The first sentence specifically says that VGC will not align with in game ladder anymore. The in game ladder did not revert to H in the timeline described. Only VGC did. I'm not sure how you could read it as being about in-game ladder but that is not what it is about.

@LuixenS @CbuttyVGC I think it's much more likely that they would extend F by a month rather than changing to a new Reg for only a couple events. The fact that we haven't heard anything about a change pretty much guarantees its not happening in my mind too. There would have been an announcement.

@45mice @CbuttyVGC This announcement disagrees. I think we're stuck with F until Champions as it is the "Subsequent Regulation" described below. I don't think they would start a new regulation for like two events and then swap games.

There’s no way Champions releases April 1st, and we’re ready to play a whole reg on it 2 days later for Orlando. My guess is Orlando is the last SV reg, we transition to Champions from there.

@45mice @AaronC_VGC Correct! It says "Championship Series Events" leading up to Worlds. That wording is only used to describe Regionals, Special Events, and Internationals.

@AaronC_VGC Iirc it’s on the champions website that other events will be champions. I doubt we’ll have worlds be the first champions event just due to working out technical issues with a whole new game.
