Brophy had a school holiday today. @BrophyAthletics did not. We had nine teams competing in 12 contests in seven different venues from California to Anthem to Casteel (#IYKYK), and the Broncos went 11-1. Thanks to all the coaches/parents who helped. #HSSIDLife

Some members of Arizona’s 2012 College World Series championship team, including coach Andy Lopez and CWS MVP Rob Refsnyder, were in attendance at the Wildcats’ game with UConn tonight for James Farris Remembrance Night. They visited the tailgate party before the game. Farris was a pitcher on that team who passed away in August from liver cancer. 📸: Maria Brown

WRESTLING / Josh Finch-Logan just won the heavyweight state championship, become the third individual state champion in wrestling and first since 2010. He upset the No. 2, 7, 3 and 1 seeds all I the first period via pin.

From Xavier Prep: Sister Lynn, after 52 years of service to the campus, will retire in June. After prayer, reflection, & meeting with her Sisters at the Xavier Convent and (Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary) leadership, Sister Lynn said it was time to pass the baton.

BASKETBALL / Brophy won their fourth consecutive game with an 82-58 victory at Perry. Hale Hansen scored a game-high 30 points, Daylen Sharper added 16, and Rocket Schwertley added 11. The Broncos shot 55 percent for the game. They host MaxPreps No. 6-ranked Millennium on Tuesday

SOCCER / Joey Fritz scored his team-leading eighth goal on a penalty kick in the 42nd minute, and Jared Garcia added an insurance goal to give Brophy a 2-0 win over Pinnacle. It was the 11th shutout of the season for the Broncos, who improved to 13-1 on the season.

FOOTBALL / Brophy Head Coach Jason Jewell was announced as one of the coaches for the West Team at the 2026 Navy All-American Bowl. The annual bowl game will take place on Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, and be televised on NBC/Peacock.

BASKETBALL / Senior Hale Hansen had a career-high 41 points with 13 rebounds, four steals, and six blocks in a 67-66 win over Loyola (Calif.) in the third-place game of the Saguaro bracket at the Nike Tournament of Champions. Next: Brophy hosts St. Mary’s on Jan. 7. @HaleHansen26
