Farming can be overwhelming & stressful hence my twitter silences at times. Today I sat back, took in the view & felt proud to be a farmer ❤️ #NativeBreeds #CarbonNeutral

@KateBeavan Hellish few months this end also. My dad is now palliative care. Juggling dad and Holly is still at primary school is a mission. You know what it’s like Kate. Paddling like hell trying not to drown 🤷🏻‍♀️

Recovering from a broken back (very long story best told over a pint). Probably need op but until then doing ok. On a mission to finish the Pembrokeshire coastal path & physio says I need walking poles. So many choices I need help please. Not too expensive but good ones x

@KateBeavan I've just been up the village and followed an old chap using a stick, adjusted to completely the wrong height for him. I've seen this SO often in the mountains and on the streets, sticks & poles badly adjusted so not doing their job right. Please make sure that you get it right.

@KateBeavan No idea on walking poles but shocked to hear that. Hope the mend sorted fully by the op. But, I guess the outcome could have been much more dire. Hope you have plenty of volunteers to share a pint of the best of drinks!

@KateBeavan Chiropractor's Monthly is well worth subscribing to. I have loads of back issues. 🤣 Sorry, I'll get my coat now. 😉

@KateBeavan are you actually doing it this weekend . . it is so hot during the day . . even now with a bit of breeze . Down below the high cliffs of Ceibwr after you pass Newport may be cooler but climbing up onto Cemaes Head after in the exposed heat would be no fun .

@KateBeavan Oh gosh. Maybe a few pints of homemade cider to ease the pain. Do you have any charity shops nearby. You might be able to find some poles.

@KateBeavan best wishes, I am near Cardigan end of the Pembs Coastal path . . which is the most arduous of all it's 186 miles ( if you are heading north) so avoid any flimsy sticks like I was offered after I came off arm crutches back in May . Good ones would be invaluable to support back

@KateBeavan Will there be a book then a film of your walk to recovery? If so, get your story right...

@KateBeavan Any poles are better than no poles. Don't spend a lot of money but do use them. Most important is to have them adjusted right; holding your poles have your elbows tucked in and your forearm should be parallel to the ground. That's all there is to it.

Good afternoon @KateBeavan, I do not know if these are suitable, but I brought a set for my cousin after his knee replacement, and he rated them highly. amazon.co.uk/Mountain-Wareh… For the price the quality was good, and he used them for over six months regularly, and then occasionally afterwards.

@KateBeavan I’m in Canada so don’t know if these are available but I have Outbound Ascent. They’re light-weight aluminum, telescoping for best height - I’m 5’3” - and for packing. They come with carbon tip, rubber indoor tip and snow baskets. I like them.
