When a health insurance company refuses to show you your file that led to your healthcare being denied, it means the decision to decline your healthcare has nothing to do with your health.
ProPublica@propublica

When an insurance company is deciding whether to pay for your medical treatment, it generates a file, which should contain all records associated with your case, including documents explaining why the claim was denied. You have a right to see this file. propublica.org/article/find-o…

The man in the video is Gordon Buchanan, a Scottish wildlife cameraman and presenter known for his daring work on BBC nature documentaries. In early 2013, while filming the BBC series The Polar Bear Family & Me in the Arctic (Svalbard, Norway), Buchanan climbed inside a custom-built reinforced plexiglass and aluminum "Ice Cube" enclosure. This specially engineered safety pod allowed him to film polar bears at extremely close range without direct risk. A large, hungry polar bear soon discovered the unfamiliar object. For nearly 45 minutes, the bear persistently clawed, bit, pushed, and shook the sturdy box, treating it as a potential food source or intriguing puzzle. Buchanan remained calm inside, capturing intimate footage of the animal's immense strength, intelligence, and predatory curiosity. The reinforced structure held firm, and no one was harmed. The dramatic sequence became one of the most memorable moments from the documentary, showing both the power of polar bears and the lengths filmmakers go to document them safely.

Yo, apparently CNN is reporting non stop about the rescued the missing US pilot in Iran. Not one word about it here. I don’t watch CNN. Anyone have any updates? Btw Trump and Kegstand get ZERO credit for any rescue.

WATCH: A Greenland shark, the world’s longest-lived vertebrate, caught on camera. Despite their large size and long lifespan, Greenland sharks are still poorly understood. There is a lot for us to learn about this species and how they’re impacted by threats like climate change.

Every year we hunt Easter Eggs! It's my absawoofly favorite holiday activity! This year Bernoulli and Beaker from @bunsenbernerbmd came out to try. Bernoulli did great but it was Beaker's time to shine. That girl is a natural and was hunting eggs like she'd done this all her life! My little brother Kenji did very well considering he's just a baby. It was windy and between blowing leaves and the scary flapping plastic bag, it was a lot for his brain. Thankfully he didn't start barking in his young Justin Bieber voice and embarrass me. My pals @cloe_the_bear and @DetectiveDugDog came out again this year. The 3 of us are pro level egg hunters. We could do this every single day and never get bored. Our only complaint was that we only got to find a dozen eggs each. We want more next year. A big bonus was the cold wind would have made wearing silly rabbit ears impossible. They'd have blown across the parking lot so we didn't have to do the boring stuff and could focus on treats. Best Easter Ever!!! 🎥 Highlights of our egg hunt #EasterEggHunt #Nosework #DogLife

Liftoff of Artemis II! The first human mission around the moon since the Apollo era. A gorgeous launch into clear skies about an hour before sunset, on the first attempt. I set this one hoping it would launch in the early minutes of the window. Photo: United Launch Alliance

Have you seen the "otter cat?" The jaguarundi is a highly adaptable feline with a diet that includes birds, reptiles, mammals, & fish. Unlike many cats, it's highly vocal. The jaguarundi has up to 13 unique calls including purring, whistling, and chattering!

We don't need government researchers to study wildfire risk. We need to privatize forests (which, alone, will reduce wildfire risk) and start logging. Create wealth and prevent out-of-control forest fires. nytimes.com/2026/04/03/cli…

You see a lot more of the left photo than the right these days. And although I find the left very attractive and interesting, the right side photo with the penny tile just wins. Why? I think it has to do with the precision and care that it requires. Penny tile is such a simple and prosaic material, but the artistry comes from the care and patience it demands. It proves that you can make order out of chaos. That you can take a simple object and turn it into a master work. Done correctly, it lasts for a century or more. And it never goes out of style.
