It’s my 24th birthday today but… I’m also retiring (kinda). Here’s my shortened story and my master plan for what I’m doing next:

In 86 days on Twitter, I've: - Reached almost 400,000 people - Received 9,000+ likes and 3,100+ replies - Got 588 Retweets and 159 link clicks - And had an avg engagement rate of 7.1% This is probably nothing for big accounts... But these numbers humble me. GM, Copy Titans!

Take ONE minute to do ONE of these things before you start work tomorrow: 1. Email one of your most engaged email subscribers, thank them for their interest, and ask if you can help them with something. 2. Unsubscribe from a newsletter you don't read.

I am 2 away from 500 I want to thank everyone I’ve met or come across on this journey. It’s been fun. I got £107 in bank account on Friday. Not bad for an oldie doing this part-time You can too. Just start, eh.

@StuLierich I get you. Gave up a solid job for a 'better' one that ended up being a nightmare that took forever to recover from. All lessons to be learnt eh?

10hrs on a plane to learn I was scammed all along. Singapore. What an idiot. Just been duped into making an international trek for something that... Did. Not. Exist. My finest business lesson was unfolding right there at the baggage carousel. In public. The blood drained to my feet well before I could call the wife. What'll she say? Where will I stay? I mean here's a sales guy who'd been preaching about trust in business for years..... A guy who talks all day about self-awareness, emotional intelligence & sensing the 'vibe' of others. A guy who'd now let his ego & sense of adventure get the better of him. Embarrassed. 2007 wasn't shaping up well. Travelled to SG with a client at the time. We'd recently decided to team up offering consulting to hospitality businesses. (sales, marketing, menu development) He knew someone 'well' at home with connections here. Story goes they wanted to invest in us. Better still. Wanted us to explore the establishment of a coffee chain in Sth East Asia. You get the drift. Already got hair on it right? He was the one that knew her. I should have been more thorough with other details but I trusted my mate. He was the smart one. I felt a little uneasy, but never mentioned it. Something wasn't right but couldn't explain. A few other details, many foggy now. She never met us there. To your journey. Let this experience help convey the importance of trusting yourself. Your values. Your path. Your gut. Do your homework. Protect everything you're building by paying attention, asking deep questions & avoid letting your ego solely drive your direction. When you're confronted with a tremendous opportunity, evaluate it from all angles. The big picture. This is Long Game thinking. Know what? I'll continue to dream, take people at face value and explore all possibilities. That's who I am. Always. Just with a different lens now. Oh my wife? Eventually got through. Said the lady in question had just been jailed for a list of other scamming incidents back home. Truth. Could only laugh and grab a cab. Was the perfect time to find the famous chilli crabs we'd heard about and a bed for the night. Don't be an idiot. Stu.

I was always curious (& obsessive) • programmed Commodore 64 - since I was 8 • played guitar every day since I was 12 • broke tech & PC to see inside As an only child, imagination was all I had to be an inventor & solve problems. This led me to pass 500 followers.

@alematit The pseudonym gives great protection from criticism. A wall between yourself and the audience. Say what you want without recourse. But it's not you. No trust there. No real relationships.

I started anon on Twitter. A faceless logo. An impersonal bio. I was worried "real-life" people would judge me. Guess what. I changed my name. Proudly sharing what I'm building in public. Launched a product and made 1500+ new friends. I became an example to my RL people.

@marcelwrites Opinions are like arseholes. Everyone has one. Doesn't mean we need to hear it.

It's ok to have no opinion on things you don't understand.

@alematit Cats are just making sure we earn enough to pay for their food and accomodation.

A lesson I'll never forget: While I was busy doubting myself, Someone was there admiring my strengths. My kitten.

Great brands have recognisable style. Stop posting random content and ● identify a burning problem ● that's growing or evergreen ● there's money to spend ● easy to add value to ● it's easy to target Put it together so it's recognisable and easy to action
