@alanchanguk @fuseenergy @MLiebreich A PPA would be a better revenue hedge than an electrolyser, surely?
And are there not more sensible things you could be doing with the solar generation in the first place that don't involve hydrogen?
Supplying your customers, for instance? Or charging a battery?
English

@KitFitton @fuseenergy @MLiebreich Problem with this chart is averages, Commodity prices are volatile, the best way to hedge revenue volatility is to have diversified revenue sources whilst still selling majority of your volume to highest priced source.
English

@FuseEnergy has received authorisation to supply and ship gas in the UK.
Why gas? ~75% of households in the UK uses gas, as much as we wish to accelerate electrification, gas is not going anywhere anytime soon.
Our commitment to decarbonise the world doesn’t stop here. Our first commercial green hydrogen plant is scheduled to energise by end of 2025, where we plan to blend cheap abundant green hydrogen (hydrogen powered by Fuse’s own solar energy) directly into gas grid. This means our customers would not need to lift a finger to reduce their carbon footprint, whilst enjoying lower energy bills.
English

@alanchanguk @fuseenergy This doesn't feel like the most efficient, or lucrative, use of hydrogen. In fact, it's one of the least...

@seetickets I'm still waiting on a Glastonbury confirmation email. What is going on?

Is anyone on UK #energytwitter aware of good data on residential air conditioning sales / installations (both historical and forecast)?
I'm trying to look at the impact that A/C could have on residential electricity demand.

An opinion piece in the @Telegraph on Friday by Lord Lilley posed a series of (frankly misleading) 'questions' about clean energy
(Lilley is a former trustee at climate-denial group Global Warming Policy Foundation)
Let's try and answer them for him... 🧵

From the latest Future Energy Scenarios.

The 0.5C reduction is included in 2 of the 4 scenarios that @NationalGridESO models.
English

@NationalGridESO is predicting that households will voluntarily reduce their thermostat temperature by 0.5 C on average between now and 2050.
Feels optimistic (and I'm all in favour of cooler buildings, especially right now).

Given we're only two weeks from gates opening, I'm re-sharing my top tips for Glastonbury that proved pretty popular last year.
The only difference is that this year I *do* have a ticket. See you on the farm!
Kit Fitton@KitFitton
This is the first year since 2007 that I haven't got @glastonbury tickets. Perhaps the Glasto Gods saw what was coming and didn't think it was wise to take a 3-week old 🤷♂️ Either way here are my top tips for first time Glasto goers (and those who haven't been in a while). A 🧵.
English

@ClemCowton Two reasons...
(1) You'd instantly see lower balancing and curtailment costs (I think), and
(2) I know it's a favourite topic of yours

And a recent podcast he did with @drvolts which is well worth a listen:

@Ed_Miliband also talking about "horsemen" in the context of the energy transition.
Only 4 of them though. As opposed to the 5 @MLiebreich talked about in his recent(ish) article.
