🇧🇷A 28-kilometer line of trucks waiting to deliver soybeans has formed outside Brazil's Miritituba river port. Just for reference, the journey from Sinop in north Mato Grosso - which is heavy in soybean production - is about 1,000 km (620 miles).

🇧🇷🇨🇳The first ever cargo of Brazilian DDGs (byproduct of corn-based ethanol production) will ship to China next week, some 62,000 tons.
Vietnam & Turkey are among top destinations, but DDGs exports are rather new with Brazil steadily increasing corn's share in ethanol output.

🌽 The corn campaign is still in progress in Ukraine — 91% of the areas were harvested as of Jan 8. Growers collected 28.66 MMT at an avg. yield of 7.16 t/ha.

🌽2025 U.S. corn yield comes in at a record 186.5 bu/acre. Iowa and Illinois didn't do as well as previously expected, but plenty of other states, particularly Minnesota and North Dakota, notched very strong results.

Interestingly, export sales by Oct. 30 covered 48% of USDA's full-year forecast in BOTH 24/25 and 25/26.

🌻 Unharvested sunflowers are rotting in the fields in Ukraine. Heavy rains prevented the growers from threshing the crop in time.
ℹ️ As of 27 Nov, the crop was 93% harvested. The average yield this year is 1.88 t/ha (2024: 2.1 t/ha).

🇨🇦Canadian farmers in 2025 smashed a 12-year-old wheat production and yield record. Output of 39.95 million metric tons is 15% above the recent three-year average and above trade expectations of 38.5 mmt.
Canada typically exports around 75% of its annual wheat crop.

🇧🇷Brazilian soybean planting reached 61% last Thursday, below the year-ago 67% due to sporadic rainfall. That compares with 47% a week earlier.
In the top state of Mato Grosso, planting slipped behind average late last week (86% complete vs 91% avg).

2026 new crop #sunflower contracts at crush plants are $22.70-$22.80 cash and $22.20-$23.00 AOG. Oil premiums on oil content above 40% at a rate of 2% price premium for 1% of oil above 40% moves gross return higher. 45% oil content seed at the $22.80 contract increases to $25.10.
