@ophymirage Black folklore in Texas. He did a lot of work in the 30s and 40s, though he continued until he died in the 1970s.

I'm at the East Texas Historical Association meeting listening to a paper on J. Mason Brewer. This is the second conference paper on Brewer I've heard this year. Glad to see this African American folklorist getting the recognition he deserves.

Worth noting that neither of these paper has been given by someone working in folklore.

To clarify my previous tweet, Notable Folklorists of Color already has him listed along with other often overlooked scholars.

I'm not a boomer, but my boomer complain is the over use of graphics in emails. Sure, use images and color to make things pop, but I should still be able to read your email without letting the graphics download.

I have been informed that it was rejected because it had been opened for two years. I was also told that they verified some of the charges were legitimate. They could not, however, tell me how that was done.

Apparently two years ago someone opened a PayPal credit card in my name. From what I've learned, the used my social and phone number, but a different mailing address and email address. For a year and a half they paid their bills and I knew nothing about it.
