We started @ZerodhaVarsity almost a decade ago to simplify how the stock market worked in English and Hindi for free. For people who preferred video, we turned all the modules into video. Today, Varsity is easily one of the most read and watched resources for all things financial markets. But until now it was self-directed—you had to read, watch, and then learn about things. We had always wanted to introduce an interactive mode of learning about markets, and we finally go around to launching Varsity Live in collaboration with @LearnappHQ. These two-day programmes come with practice tech. You don't just listen to the class—you practice WITH the mentor. So you'd place a mock order, draw trendlines, and calculate your emergency funds using real data. So you learn by doing, not listening. We've reached 45k users from 100 countries—all organic. If you've always wanted to learn how the stock market works but never got around to it, sign up for the next session: varsitylive.zerodha.com/home

We started 'Varsity Live' early this year. Varsity Live, is an interactive learning method guided by an experienced mentor. We currently have two programs (Hindi and English), but will add more soon. Some stats are pretty crazy, given that we've not spoken much about Varsity Live - - 72,000 users - 26,000 program registrations - 65% opt for English-led courses, 35% Hindi - Registrations from 127 countries - Including 4 from Latvia and 1 from Sierra Leone🤯 - Of course, I'm assuming these are Indians settled outside, wanting to learn about Indian Markets.

It is heartening to see how @ZerodhaVarsity is transitioning from a simple article-based learning portal to a full-fledged stock market education ecosystem. Today we introduce 'Varsity Live', to the Varsity ecosystem 🚀! Varsity Live is live education on all things trading and investing. Unlike a webinar this is not one sided instruction class, but rather a highly interactive, immersive learning experience. Do check out the promo video to get a sense of what Varsity Live is all about. Or even better, sign up for the next session to experience Varsity Live first hand, link in the next tweet 👇

Someone just asked me for my biggest life learning. This quote by Larry Hite summarizes it - "I have two basic rules about winning in trading as well as in life: (1) If you don’t bet, you can’t win. (2) If you lose all your chips, you can’t bet."

Right from day 1 of @zerodha, we've spent a significant amount of time and effort to educate people about finance through @ZerodhaVarsity, Z-Connect, @tradingqna, etc. Since video was becoming the dominant way people consumed information, we also launched Varsity videos. Along the way, we've been debating whether all this content we were publishing appealed to younger audiences. We're launching a new YouTube channel called Zing! by Zerodha in partnership with @PrateekLearnapp and @LearnappHQ where we make finance a little more fun. The first video is on De-influencing. Check out the link in the comments.

Wow... shouldn't #SEBI be looking at this?? What is going on? Needs an explainer on luring, tips, programmes and affiliations! @ascionline rules and those of Ministry of Consumer Affairs are already applicable to such stuff no? @BandiShreyas ?
Bandi Shreyas@BandiShreyas

Spoke with @vivbajaj about @Abhishekkar_ 's use of fake Mtms (now deleted from all social media) to lure people into his market tips group/copy-paste courses/affiliate programs, he has even used fake charities to lure people into his schemes targeting the most vulnerable people, making a career out of robing people with a fake persona Really appreciate vivek's commitment to do the right thing, he has assured me that he would be reaching out to Kar to ask for his F&O retuns for the past 2 years to show his legitimacy(verifier would have to check the account personally). If i am wrong in this situation i will be IMMEDIATELY donating Rs. 2 lakh to any charity of kar's choosing If there is the slightest amount of legitimacy in the guy, he should use this opportunity to make me look like a fool for making these staments, this will shut down all criticism once and for all. If not, im hoping all of those who have given him a platform to carry out his schemes do the right thing If you have personally been a victim of Kar's schemes or know anyone who has, please post them all here with documentation, i will do my best to make them reach the correct people to try and get something done. If nothing else, will prevent other people from falling prey to the same thing 🙏

It's because, despite all the great plans, there were no clear timelines on the one thing that investors were highly anticipating: Timelines of Reliance telecom and retail IPOs. The investors might have also felt that Reliance was trying to venture into too many avenues which had operational challenges and could also lead to board and management changes.

Let's start at the most basic old school Funda of Finance: Say 'NO' - NO to Products with unnecessary Price Tags! - NO to traders that 'promise' returns! - NO to Promoters that Hype their companies! - NO to that extra Gulab Jamun! 'a NO a day keeps the sacrifices away'

Competition is high and regulatory challenges can slow down the growth. But hey, Goldman Sachs is bullish on Paytm and has predicted a 1-year target price of Rs 1,150, which is a whopping 67% increase from its Monday closing price. Are you bullish on Paytm? Or, will you watch the stock from a distance, just like us? 👀
