Twilight was put into turn around by a major studio. Almost every studio passed on Hunger Games when it went out to the town pre-publication. Most people still don’t realize that Captain Marvel cleared $1.1B.
It’s an epidemic of bad business decisions born of sexism.

It’s weird that we do this thing every few years where a major movie targeted first & foremost at women opens above/around $150 million (TWILIGHT, THE HUNGER GAMES, CAPTAIN MARVEL, and now #Barbie, etc.) and people once again act surprised that girls like going to the movies too
