We all had a go at cake decorating with local cake maker Kay Byrne at our WI meeting this week Even our non-baking President’s cakes looked pretty good!

Following the success of our potato competition we’re happy to announce the Long Itchington WI crocus competition - prizes for the most beautiful and most quirky/unusual pot of crocuses. We’re looking forward to seeing the results next Spring.

The Long Itchington WI potato competition results are in - 36 of our members grew a total of 23kg (50 lbs) from one seed potato each. The biggest crop was 1898 grams (4lb 3oz) the most prolific was 35 potatoes - all the results were delicious! @WarwickshireWI @WILifemagazine

For our latest WI lockdown project members have all been given one potato to grow - in the ground, in a pot or even a bin liner. Highest yield wins but we’re all winners as we can eat the results @WarwickshireWI @WomensInstitute @WILifemagazine

Entries for the October Long Itchington WI monthly competition “make a poppy” was held via on-line photos. The winning entry was number 3 made entirely of lace.

Great second Long Itchingon WI zoom meeting - really well attended with fantastic speaker @annebuftonmccoy and hosts Charlotte and Elaine skilfully split us into smaller groups and even got us all back together again! Next up our Summer Surprise meeting in August...

Learning what works at WI zoom meetings - our gardening quiz was tough but fun

Our first WI zoom meeting - lovely to be together again. We learnt that 31 joining in meant swapping between two screens. Hoping for even more to join us at our next one - think we’ll need another screen... @WarwickshireWI
