It has never been so hard being a Ronaldo fan than right now mehn. The goat debate has never been more frustrating. We've got Ronaldo in a Portuguese team where the players do not respect him enough like the Argentines adore Messi which is honestly well deserved. Ronaldo gets blamed when things go wrong and never gets enough credit when things go right. Messi keeps smashing it at this World Cup. Even though he's playing lower ranked teams like Jordan, Algeria, Austria and would probably play lower ranked teams till the Semis, you have to give him credit for Stat padding at this World Cup even at 39. Portugal will probably get knocked out anytime soon. To my fellow Ronaldo fans, I'd just say enjoy the ride while it lasts. Ronaldo will forever be our goat for as long as we live. Messi can score as much as he wants, stat pad as much as he wants and gets a free pass from FIFA as much he wants, but Ronaldo remains the goat of the people and for the people. But I'd never fall for the bait that the goat debate never existed or Messi never had to worry about Ronaldo competing with him like two maniacs. Even Messi has acknowledged Ronaldo as his equal.
