It's great as long as you're using it in your domain you're quite familiar with already.
But learning a new framework/programming language is excruciatingly tiresome now. There's ai to do pretty much everything, so why learn it when you can literally solve it 10x faster? But you're supposed to review it eventually, how are you supposed to do that when you've never used it?
But again, why use it, when any coding agent is much faster?

The shittiest thing about AI as a SWE is that while it's not the 10x nitro-boost that all the AI hypebeast grifters on here claim it is, it *is* a net ~30% productivity gain (once you factor in all the review, code slop clean up, etc.), which is *just* enough of a boost where you cannot justify not using it.
This is a letdown because using AI after years of learning to code without it is of course an ongoing humiliation ritual, (counterintuitively) *more* exhausting/draining than coding by hand, and way less enjoyable in general.

@dylmichaelc Anyone who ever worked on something with a passion could expect what it's like

@knowRowan And also a high chance that just next year anyone could put one sentence into a chat box and have your apps functionality without installing anything..

@dvassallo Only Mexico would be better for sure, but it doesn't matter too much as long as it's fun to watch.
But the schedule is boring as fuck for us Europeans. Usually you can watch games all day like a homeless person and drink, now it's 1 game in the evening and siesta.
Meh.

@thsottiaux I was wondering, when I upgrade codex 5x to 20x, do I get a new reset or keep the reset? So keeping a 20x reset might be more worth it...

Heard your (amusing) feedback that it was at times annoying to receive a reset of your Codex usage without warning.
Next time we press the button you will get to choose when it actually applies. Happy codexing.

We heard you wanted to use Codex rate limit resets on your own time. Starting today, we’re rolling out the ability to save rate limit resets to use later. We’re starting Go, Plus, Pro, and Business users with one free reset:

Money works exponentially. A person with $100.000 is closer to $1.000.000 than someone having $1.000 to $100.000
You have to be mentally handicapped thinking you're closer to having $250 billion than someone having $250 billion to having $900 billion

@gaxrav Some people pay 100 bucks a month for their gym, 20 bucks on top for some better coaching, inside into your metrics and building long term health is really a small fee on top.
It just seems expensive when you compare it to fitness trackers, which it kinda isn't, imo.

Somehow when I do stuff with codex/hermes in private, it gets things incorrect & burns a shitton of tokens for a mediocre result
But then I try something in codex on my company account and the fucker absolutely one-shots my prompt; feels like it gained complete consciousness from that one task, across all future tasks. Never fails implementation, never forgets to do anything, code has a high quality, respects architecture, etc etc.
Somehow it feels much smarter than my private and I somehow can't replicate it's behaviour. I'll keep trying tho
