One of the toughest things to get through to non pro tournament players is helping them understanding just how long you can get unlucky for even while playing great. This often leads people to connect dots where there aren’t dots to be connected. They’ll start drawing conclusions for the things they did that worked the times they ran good and start dismissing the value of good plays thinking they started losing as soon as they started implementing those plays. This is what makes tournament poker tough. You gotta have a good group of people to talk poker with and reality check your plays and your process to continue having faith in your game. You could downswing for years while playing good poker if you play a relatively low volume.
