Despite the result, there was so much for Cambridge to be proud of in the women's @VarsityMatches. A very young and 'green' team dug deep especially defensively to give a strong Oxford side a good test. curufc.com/news-6609-Prid…

There was a compelling and thrilling win for Cambridge in the men's @VarsityMatches, with it all coming together in the end. It makes it three wins in a row, and they have shown so many different traits in each victory. curufc.com/news-6610-Camb…

It is always great to 'dust off' the notepad to attend the @VarsityMatches - it is hard to beat being at and reporting on live sport.

Good to see Keely Hodgkinson win #SPOTY but a shame that Alex Yee did not feature in the top 3. It felt he was sold a bit short by #BBCSport as they did not mention that he went on to also be crowned world triathlon champion.

It was brilliant to go to @cambridgecityfc's opening of their new stadium today, having written so much about it in my past life. It was great to see so many familiar faces who have worked tirelessly for the club in their 'nomadic' years. What a place they can now call home.

Leon Marchand was amazing, as was was the crowd's reaction during the breastroke leg #Paris2024

What started with Dallas and Knibbs goals to beat Colchester late on, Mark's time in charge of #CamUTD will - once the dust has settled - never be forgotten for all its highs & surely be remembered as one of the best.

His work with the #CamUTD academy during the Conference days, and then preparing the EPPP to reach Category 3 status on the return to the Football League should never be overlooked. It may not be bright and shiny, but it was fundamental.

It's sad to see that Mark Bonner's time as manager of @CambridgeUtdFC has come to an end today. Promotion, great escapes, a famous FA Cup win, it has been a stand-out spell in the club's history. Yet, one of the most important things that Mark did at #CUFC rarely gets mentioned.
