AEW’s 2025 metrics across attendance, ratings, demo stability, live gates, and overall growth were objectively its weakest since launch. If those numbers still qualify as ‘Promotion of the Year,’ then the criteria itself is meaningless. Promotion of the Year should reflect momentum, growth, and audience demand. In 2025, AEW had none of those. That doesn’t make WWE great. It just makes Sports Illustrated unserious.
